At Happy Little Farmstead, we love welcoming homeschool families for a unique day of hands-on learning and fun!

Our Home Learners Program offers seasonal farm-based activities that spark curiosity, connect kids with agriculture, and encourage exploration!

We provide both English and French learning!

Choose the Homeschool Experience That’s Right for You!

We're happy to offer two different homeschool opportunities at the farm. Families can either join one of our seasonal Homeschool Farm Days held throughout the year, or organize a private homeschool group visit with customizable learning topics and activities.

Join other homeschooling families for one of our special themed farm learning days held in the Fall, Winter, and Spring.

 

Private Homeschool Group Visits
Organize your own visit for your homeschool group, co-op, or pod and choose from a variety of educational farm topics and activities.

 

Seasonal Homeschool Farm DAys

We’re excited to offer hands-on farm learning experiences designed for homeschool families. Our program provides children with the opportunity to explore farm life through interactive activities, animal experiences, nature-based learning, and agricultural education in a fun and welcoming environment. We offer three Seasonal Homeschool Farm Days throughout the school year reflecting each season on the farm. 

  • Families can register individually

  • Includes themed activities, farm stations, learning experiences, etc.

  • Great for social interaction and group learning

What to Expect:

  • Guided farm activities

  • Seasonal educational stations

  • Animal interactions

  • Farm-themed crafts or experiments

  • Outdoor exploration

  • Mixed-age learning opportunities

  • Indoor Play Area (heated in the winter)

A parent or guardian must accompany children at all times. While we strive to create a safe and enjoyable environment, Happy Little Farmstead is not responsible for the supervision or safety of your child. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that your child is accompanied and supervised throughout their visit.

 

Geared Towards Ages: 4–10 years old (children 3 & under are welcome to play for free)

Maximum Participants: 30 children per session

 

Fee per session: $15 + tax per child (includes 1 free adult) 

 

Additional Adults: $5 + tax (must pay upon arrival)

 

Lunch & Snacks: Please bring your own to enjoy during the break

 

Tickets for Upcoming Farm Field Days

No events at the moment

Please note that tickets are non-refundable. However, in the event of an emergency or illness, we are happy to transfer your ticket to a future visit to the farm. Please contact us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend, so we can assist with rescheduling.

 

Private Visit for Homeschool Groups

Looking to organize your own homeschool farm visit? We’re happy to welcome homeschool groups, co-ops, and learning pods for private educational experiences at the farm! Groups can choose from a variety of hands-on farm and nature-based learning topics while enjoying interactive animal experiences, outdoor exploration, and agricultural education in a fun and relaxed environment.

 

Perfect for homeschool groups wanting to:

  • Plan their own educational farm experience

  • Choose a date that works best for their group

  • Explore specific interests, topics, and hands-on activities

  • Customize your experience with seasonal topics and activities

How it works?

Join us for a fun day at the farm and learn all about agriculture! Choose between our two options, or customize your own visit based on specific topics and learning goals. 

  • Option A: One general farm tour (approx. 1.5 hours) plus 2 interactive farm activities

  • Option B: Two focused presentations (30–45 minutes each) plus 2 interactive farm activities

Learning about a specific topic in your homeschool group? We’d be happy to customize your visit to focus on your current interests and learning goals. Let us know what you have in mind!

 

Option A: General Farm Experience 

 

This option is perfect for groups wanting to learn a little bit of everything! Choose 1 general tour and 2 farm activities. 

Choose ONE General Farm Tour:

  • Farm Animal & Agriculture Tour
    A guided walk-through introducing your group to our animals and the different types of farming practices—from dairy and beef to poultry, goats, horses, and more. 

  • Homesteading & Orchard Tour (Spring or Fall Only)
    Learn how families can raise food and care for the land, including small-scale meat and dairy production, gardening, beekeeping, and fruit growing. We’ll explore our orchard and berry patches as part of this tour.

 

Choose TWO Interactive Farm Activity:

  • Wagon Ride

  • Butter Making

  • Ice Cream Making

  • Wool Felting

  • Corn Maze Scavenger Hunt (Fall Only)

Option B: Themed Educational Presentations

 

Perfect for groups studying specific agricultural or nature topics. Choose 2 specific presentations and 2 farm activities.

Choose TWO focused presentation: 

Dairy Farming

  • Learn about dairy animals, milk production, feeding, and life on a dairy farm. 

  • Activity: Butter Making

 

Crop Farming

  • Explore seeds, planting, plant growth, harvesting, and farm equipment.

  • Activity: Seed planting or corn harvesting (Fall Only)

 

Honey Bees & Beekeeping

  • Discover pollinators, bee jobs, honey production, and hive life.

  • Activity: Honey Tasting or build an Insect Hotel

 

Fibre Farming

  • Learn where wool and fibre come from and how they are used.

  • Activity: Felting Craft

 

Poultry Farming

  • Explore chickens, ducks, eggs, and poultry care.

  • Activity: Fun EGG-xperiments

Booking Information

  • Group Size: 15 to 30 children

  • Recommended Ages: 4 to 10 years old

  • Hours of Operation: 10 AM to 3 PM (we recommend at least 4 hours on the farm)

  • Pricing: $15 + tax per child

  • One free parent per child. Additional parents are $5 + tax

  • Children 3 & under play for free

  • Payment options: We accept cash, debit, and credit. Your group can pay together or separately. 

  • Availability: We often have greater availability Monday through Wednesday, but can accommodate Thursday and Friday bookings when needed.

  • Languages: English and French
