Our Story

Our story begins in April 2020 when we moved back to the family dairy farm due to COVID-19. We were finishing our studies online in Ottawa and decided that the country air would do us good. COVID hit a few short months after my parents decided to retire from milking cows after 30 years in the business. By October 2020, the cows were gone and the barn was empty. We spent two years transforming the old dairy barn into a fun and educational farm experience! In October 2022, we proudly opened our farm doors to the public. What started as a way to make the best of a challenging time, complete with uncertainty and fear of food security, has blossomed into Happy Little Farmstead, a place where visitors can connect with nature and learn about farm life in a hands-on, engaging way.

Our farm continues to be a working farm. While my parents grow corn and soybean, we've aimed to provide quality meat raised with love, respect, and dedication. Our goal is to demonstrate that farm life comes with both the good and the hardships as we work with nature. In addition to our agricultural pursuits, we offer a variety of farm experiences, seasonal events, educational programs, and community outreach. Whether you're here to enjoy a family day out or to learn about the different facets of farming, we invite you to experience the warmth and charm of our farm!
